Sudden Weather Change in Buenos Aires: Storms and Cold Snap Expected

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) reported that rains will begin earlier in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) and that storms are expected between Monday and Tuesday, marking the start of a sharp change in weather conditions. The strongest of the storms, according to reports accessed by the Argentine News Agency, will occur on Tuesday, March 17, a day when the City of Buenos Aires and the Buenos Aires suburbs will be under a yellow alert. According to the official body, after a very hot Sunday with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees, the arrival of a storm front will cause precipitation and a marked drop in temperatures at the beginning of the week. The forecast anticipates instability during Monday and Tuesday, with a probability of storms that could occur at different times during both days. This system will be responsible for cutting the heatwave that will be recorded during the weekend and will bring cooler air to the region. After the rains, the change will be noticeable: this Sunday the highs reached more than 30 degrees and after the storms, the maximum temperatures will barely exceed 20 degrees. In this way, the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) will go in a few hours from an almost summery environment to much milder conditions, anticipating the typical changes of the transition towards autumn. Specialists recommend following the updates of the forecast of the National Meteorological Service, as the intensity of the storms and the exact time of the rains may be adjusted in the coming hours.
